What the talk delivers

Keynote & lecture themes

Each talk is shaped to the room — a board, a regional society, a national conference, a school hall. Four core territories:

01

Organisational Motivation

Leadership lessons carried back from the field: how teams hold their nerve, make decisions under pressure, and find shared purpose when the route gets hard.

02

Data & AI in the Modern World

Demystifying data science and artificial intelligence for any audience — what it means, where it is going, and how to face it with confidence rather than fear.

5× National Awards Finalist
03

Exploration & Resilience

The psychology of the expedition — preparation, risk, solitude and endurance — drawn from solo journeys across deserts, mountains and oceans.

04

From Expedition to Enterprise

Applying the discipline of fieldwork — planning, logistics, data-led decision-making — to the everyday challenges of organisations and their people.

From the field

Expeditions & discovery

The stories behind the stage — journeys undertaken solo, and discoveries made where exploration meets data science.

EX·01

Across Europe’s only desert — solo

A solo traverse on foot of the only true desert on the European continent, carrying everything needed to cross its arid heart alone.

SOLO · ON FOOT
EX·02

Through the Himalayas — solo

A solo trek into the high Himalaya — altitude, isolation and the long discipline of moving through the world’s greatest mountains alone.

SOLO · HIGH ALTITUDE
EX·03

Two lost tombs, uncovered in Algeria

Using data science and satellite technology to locate and uncover two lost tombs in Algeria — exploration directed not by chance, but by the disciplined reading of data.

DATA · SATELLITE
Beyond the lectern

Field practice

Expedition Fitness

Designing and leading expedition fitness training — the physical preparation that turns ambition into a journey the body can actually complete.

Polar Preparation

Preparation for polar expeditions — cold-weather readiness, logistics and the mental conditioning the far latitudes demand.

Exploration Data Science

Leading world-exploration data science — applying data and AI skills directly to expedition fieldwork, planning and discovery.
